Millennials and Money: Starting the Conversation is What Matters Most

At an estimated population of 82 million, millennials make up the largest generation in America. Born between 1980 and 1995, members of this cohort have often found themselves to be the subject of everything from think-pieces to scholarly articles in recent years. While many labels have been attached to millennials by the media, we’ll use this space to focus on how they can use their greatest asset – time – to set themselves up for success as their financial plan unfolds.

Hard at Work: Your Financial Planning “Elves”

In addition to the natural hustle and bustle of the holiday season at the end of every year, Yeske Buie’s Financial Planning Team is hard at work like Santa’s elves ensuring our Clients’ financial needs are neatly wrapped heading into the New Year. This year, we are placing a special focus on Clients’ tax needs as we recognize the potential for changes in tax laws with the incoming administration. Attention is also given to Clients’ retirement accounts, charitable contributions, tax reports, portfolio reports, and more. Elissa describes more of Yeske Buie’s behind the scenes work in response to a question shared in our Ask Elissa and Dave feature.

Season of Giving

Yeske Buie has a worldview to Give Big and everyone on our team embodies Give Big in their own unique capacity – volunteering with charitable organizations, giving back to the Financial Planning profession and more. Inspired by the season of giving, we share two recent Give Big experiences from our team. Cristin Etheredge recently volunteered with the Rotary Club of Vienna for their 18th Annual Ethics Day event. Additionally, Elissa and Dave generously invited the team to select a handful of toys to be donated to the San Francisco Firefighters Toy Program. See what impacted Cristin the most about her Ethics Day experience and how the team feels about supporting organizations like these around the holidays.

Tis the Season: Light of Gold

5Beginning last year, Elissa and Dave became involved with Cappella SF, an exceptional acappella group founded and directed by Ragnar Bohlin, Emmy award winning director of the San Francisco Symphony Chorus. We recognize that by no means does everyone celebrate the Christmas Holiday, but with admiration for their talent, Yeske Buie sponsored Capella SF’s first holiday CD last year, “Light of Gold: Cappella SF Christmas”, which features Christmas songs from around the world and across the centuries.

To anyone who is interested, we would like to offer you a copy of this CD; simply email Mila@YeBu.com and she will promptly ship a CD to your home. This link to a sample of Light of Gold will give you a taste of what this CD has in store for you. And, for those of you who still have their copy of the CD from last year, we hope you will enjoy the music again this season, and feel free to ask us for a copy for a friend or family member. Happy Holidays!
