Cash Flow Trackers: How to Make Them Work for You

How much did you spend at the grocery store last week? What about at restaurants last month? Or on clothes this year? You probably have only a very general idea of the answers to these questions. And frankly, that’s ok. Life is often too busy to record and categorize every expense. Luckily, technology can help do all of that for you. But is such a granular analysis even worthwhile? Today, we take a look at one of the more popular cash flow tracking apps: Mint. Read on for our take on the service, and our thoughts on using cash flow trackers.

Around the World in 60 Minutes

The world is in a rare state of flux, with a populist, anti-trade president newly installed in the White House, and populist, anti-EU parties on the rise all across the European continent. Economic conditions in the US and abroad, meanwhile, are showing positive trends, but it’s still to be seen whether the Federal Reserve and European Central Bank can successfully walk the thin line between growth and inflation. Join us for a one hour tour of our changing world on Wednesday, April 19th at 11:00am PT / 2:00pm ET during which we’ll share our analyses and recommendations for weathering whatever may come. Registration is simple – click this link and enter your name! We hope you will also share this link with any friend, family member, or colleague who may be interested in joining us.

The National Endowment for Financial Education and the Financial Planning Association® have partnered to share an interactive ‘Financial Four’ bracket for the sixth year in a row. Rather than picking basketball teams, the bracket challenges people to prioritize the financial areas of their life that are most important to them. We encourage you to explore the 32 financial concepts and challenge your friends and family to complete their Financial Four bracket; no matter what they choose, everyone ends up a winner!

Yeske Buie Gives Big as Guests Win Big

Always eager to support our local community, Yeske Buie was pleased to have participated in the Rotary Club of Vienna’s recent Casino Night event. As a table sponsor, Senior Financial Planner in our Vienna office, Yusuf Abugideiri, played the role of a dealer at one of the black jack tables. Cristin Etheredge, Operations Manager in our Vienna office, also supported the event by serving as the public relations co-chair. Cristin said of the event, “What makes this special is the heartfelt sense of community”. All proceeds from the event are used to strengthen the philanthropic activities of the Rotary Club locally and beyond. To share other ways that Yeske Buie Gives Big to our local communities, we offer a collection of posts related to our Give Big initiatives.

Tax Day: April 18th, 2017

This year, Tax Day will be observed on April 18th. No, this is not a typo! As was the case last year, you will have a few extra days to file your 2016 Federal and State tax returns due to the observed holiday, Emancipation Day, a government holiday in Washington, D.C. After April 18th, we will send an email request to ask for a copy of your completed 2016 return, as we do every year. The information provided in your tax return helps us to best serve you throughout the year as we perform tax related analysis. If your return is completed in advance of the deadline, feel free to send the documents to us using any of the methods described here.
