Tips to Thwart Tax Thieves

Protecting your identity and your taxes can feel like an uphill battle. Each year around this time, we like to share reminders of best practices to keep your identity safe as awareness is a key component to protecting your identity. Typically, tax season brings about a surge of attempts for scammers and identity thieves to phish for your personal information. While still significant, the number of fraudulently filed returns and those who reported tax return identity theft in 2016 was reported by the IRS to be 50% lower than in 2015. To help keep this trend on the downhill, we offer tips and resources to help you protect yourself from potential theft.

Can Money Buy Happiness?

Researchers are continually looking for ways to prove whether or not money can buy happiness. We recently came across an article that argues that it is possible for money to bring you happiness and reflects our belief that “It’s about the size of your life, not the size of your wallet®”. The ideas in the article are supported by a study that focuses on factors that bring and sustain happiness and suggest that spending money in more fulfilling ways to bring you closer to other people can, indeed, increase your happiness. Today, we share Kira M. Referrals are the Greatest Compliment

Clients and referral sources have often told us that they hesitate to make a referral because they don’t know if friends, relatives, or coworkers meet our minimums or would otherwise be a good fit. Our message is that we are Financial Planning Evangelists® and would like to see everyone who seeks advice find a competent, ethical financial planner. Thus, we’re happy to talk to ANYONE who is referred to us and if, for whatever reason, we find that we’re not a good fit, we will work to match them up with an experienced financial planner who is.

If you know someone who may be interested in talking with us, please ask them to contact Lauren@YeBu.com or send Lauren the individual’s name and contact information so we may connect with them to set-up an initial meeting. We thank you for the continued trust you show in us by referring your friends, family, and colleagues so that we can help them to harness their financial resources to pursue exquisite, fulfilling lives.
