TheLiveBigWay® Digest – Planning is Everything

Estate Planning for Animal Lovers

When thinking about estate planning, many topics come to mind – like, what property, houses, and cars you own, who will handle the distribution of your assets, and how you will care for your children, grandchildren, and other loved ones. Often overlooked, however, is the care for our beloved, furry companions: our pets. Although you can’t leave money directly to your pets, you can make plans to ensure your pets are cared for and that the necessary resources are available to the caretaker.

‘Tis the Season for Holiday Giving

A core value at Yeske Buie, our team believes in giving our time and talent to our Clients, our local communities, the Financial Planning profession, and more. While we are intentional about Giving Big all year round, we find ourselves particularly inspired to give during the holiday season. This year, Elissa and Dave generously invited the team to select a handful of toys to be donated to local charities – the San Francisco Firefighters Toy Program and the Fairfax County Police Department’s “Santa’s Ride” Toy Drive. Read on for the team’s gratitude in supporting organizations like these around the holidays and for photos from the team’s donations.

Staff Spotlight: Yusuf Abugideiri

Today in this space, we’d like to shine a spotlight on our longest-standing team member, Yusuf Abugideiri, who is in the midst of some exceptional personal and professional life events that we are excited to share with you. First and foremost, Yusuf and his wife, Maegan, are counting down the days until the arrival of their first born child! Of course, this means that Yusuf will be spending some time out of the office as he adjusts to his new role as a parent. In the meantime, Ryan Klemm and the rest of our Financial Planning team are prepared to dive in and support our Clients’ needs during Yusuf’s time away. Stay tuned for an announcement (and pictures!) after Yusuf and Maegan meet their son.

In other (less life altering, but still good) news, Yusuf will be a member of the 2018 class of Schwab’s Executive Leadership Program. This program serves as a sort of “MBA” for Financial Planners with the aim of preparing the next generation of leaders of the profession. The coursework will touch on various topics, including Positive Leadership, Managing Innovation, Talent Management, and Entrepreneurship that Yusuf will be able to apply in his management role at Yeske Buie.

Tis the Season: Light of Gold

A few years ago, Elissa and Dave became involved with Cappella SF, an exceptional a cappella group founded and directed by Ragnar Bohlin, Emmy award winning director of the San Francisco Symphony Chorus. We recognize that by no means does everyone celebrate the Christmas Holiday, but with admiration for their talent, Yeske Buie sponsored Capella SF’s first holiday CD, which features Christmas songs from around the world and across the centuries. With the holiday season upon us, we are reminded of the beauty of this CD and the joy this music brings to us.

To anyone who is interested, we would like to offer you a copy of this CD; simply email our team at Info@YeBu.com and we will promptly ship a CD to your home. This link to a sample of Light of Gold will give you a taste of what this CD has in store for you. And, for those of you who still have their copy of the CD from years past, we hope you will enjoy the music again this season, and feel free to ask us for a copy for a friend or family member. Happy Holidays!
