Ryan Rasmussen

Financial Planning Resident

Ryan Rasmussen holds a B.S. in Family and Consumer Sciences with an emphasis in Financial Planning from the University of Georgia. He completed his degree as a presidential scholar and cum laude honors.

While studying in Georgia, Ryan was an active member of the Student Financial Planning Association. During his last semester at UGA, he gave back to the Athens/Clarke community by offering free tax services through the University of Georgia sponsored Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program and provided free financial counseling services through UGA’s ASPIRE Clinic. Being involved in these programs allowed him to practice applying financial planning strategies and gave him the opportunity to meet face-to-face with clients. Ryan’s desire to give back to the community is rooted through his involvement with the Boy Scouts of America. Ryan was awarded the rank of Eagle Scout and is currently an active member in the National Eagle Scout Association. Ryan spent his last three months in Georgia working with New Planner Recruiting LLC as an associate. Ryan helped oversee the client relationship management software and gained insight on the expectation for the new members of the financial planning profession.

Ryan is a member of San Francisco’s FPA chapter and NexGen community. There, he networks with a diverse pool of financial planners allowing new ideas and professional relationships to develop.

In his free time, Ryan enjoys volunteering, spending time with his girlfriend, family, and friends, attending concerts, and traveling. Ryan is very excited to explore the magnificent hiking trails and national park in and around the San Francisco Bay Area.

Client Focus: As a Financial Planning Resident, Ryan works with the rest of the Financial Planning Team to ensure that clients’ financial planning needs are met to help them achieve their Live Big® goals.

Current Update: Ryan is spending his first three weeks of training at the Yeske Buie Vienna office. Afterwards, he will move to Berkley, CA to continue the remainder of his training. He looks forward to working diligently and learning more about the industry.

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that others won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give others permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.” ~Marianne Williamson
