Cole DeLucas

Financial Planning Resident

Cole DeLucas graduated from Virginia Tech in May of 2018 with a B.S. in Finance. Cole also completed the Virginia Tech CFP® Certification Education Track with cum laude honors. During Cole’s time at Virginia Tech, he was active with the Financial Planning Association’s student chapter and took a great interest in traveling with the other active members to conferences to meet other planners in this great profession. During his college career, Cole was also heavily involved with his fraternity, Delta Sigma Phi, spearheading fundraising and alumni events to help prosper a well-round brotherhood as well as help the organization become financially independent.

During his collegiate summers, Cole worked for two different financial planning firms to supplement his studies. In 2016, Cole worked for The Commonwealth Group in Harrisonburg, Virginia, where he feels his passion for becoming a financial planner really started to develop. The following summer, Cole was an intern in Yeske Buie’s Vienna, Virginia office, so he is already a bit familiar with Yeske Buie’s style of financial planning. While an intern at Yeske Buie, Cole was a member of the Financial Planning Association’s NexGen Community, and he looks forward to connecting again with the chapter now that he resides full-time in Northern Virginia. Cole envisions himself serving on the committee very soon and becoming much more involved in the financial planning community.

Out of the office, Cole enjoys being active and exploring everything that is available around him. He looks forward to biking, running or simply just being outdoors in the D.C. area. Cole is an avid golfer and has already taken the time to research all the public golf courses in the Northern Virginia area! Lots of Hokies enjoy their time up in the D.C. area, so Cole also looks forward to enjoying time with them as well as his family.

Client Focus: While working with individual Clients, Cole approaches every interaction with Yeske Buie’s Client Big mindset. Cole strives to put the Clients first and to give them peace of mind when it comes to their financial future. Cole recognizes that each Client has a unique story. Therefore, Cole chooses to see each situation through the Client’s eyes, which he hopes will allow him to help Clients navigate inevitable financial obstacles and ultimately achieve their Live Big® goals.

Current Update: As the summer time comes to a close, Cole is excited to explore the D.C. area in the fall colors. He got to experience his first hockey game two weeks ago and now understands everyone’s love for the Caps! With Thanksgiving and Christmas right around the corner, he can’t wait for time with his family and enjoying a few trips down to Blacksburg to see his Hokies play football. Come December, Cole will slow down as he will begin preparing for the CFP Exam, which he will take in March of 2019. Wish him luck!

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that others won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give others permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.” ~Marianne Williamson
